Pedestrian killed in southeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA – A man was killed in southeast Bakersfield on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle, KGET reports.

The victim was attempting to walk across South Edison Road when he was struck by a northbound Toyota that was travelling at 55 miles per hour. The pedestrian was killed at the scene.

The driver initially fled the scene but later returned. Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
