VALLEY CENTER, CA – A head-on crash in Valley Center left one person dead and two others injured on Tuesday evening, Fox 5 San Diego reports.
The accident occurred on Lilac Road near Via Piedra shortly before 6 p.m. The victim was a 76-year-old woman who was a passenger in a black Chevrolet Bolt that was travelling west on Lilac Road.
A 62-year-old man was driving a grey Lexus ES 350 in the eastbound lanes of Lilac road when he lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, striking the Bolt.
Both drivers and the woman in the Bolt were rushed to Palomar Medical Center. The woman died while being transported and both men sustained serious injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor.
