SAN DIEGO, CA – A 70-year-old man is dead after being struck by a car while crossing the street on Monday night, local news reports.  The victim was attempting to cross the 2500 block of Torrey Pines Road when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by a 40-year-old woman around 6 p.m. He was rushed to the hospital but later pronounced dead. CHULA VISTA, CA – A two-vehicle collision resulted in one death in Chula Vista on Monday morning, local news reports.  The crash occurred in the southbound lanes on I-805 near Division Street around 2:10 a.m. A Honda Civic and a Hyundai Elantra collided in the freeway, which caused the driver of the Honda to lose control of his vehicle. The Civic left the highway and rolled down the embankment, resulting in the death of the 28-year-old driver. The 21-year-old man driving the Elantra remained uninjured. SAN DIEGO, CA – A man was killed in San Diego on Tuesday evening after being struck by a car as he crossed the street, KUSI reports.  The 42-year-old victim was attempting to cross in the 2100 block of Coronado Avenue when he was hit by a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta around 6 p.m. He suffered fatal injuries in the crash. LAKESIDE, CA – A 56-year-old man from El Cajon was killed on Tuesday after a head-on collision with a truck in Lakeside, Fox 5 San Diego reports.  The victim was driving north on Los Coches Road near Lakeview Road around 2 p.m. in a 2005 Audi A6. He then drifted into the southbound lane and was hit by a Helix Water District dump truck. He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. SAN DIEGO, CA – A wrong-way driver caused a four-car pileup on a San Diego freeway early Saturday morning, Fox 5 San Diego reports.  The accident occurred on State Route 163 as a car driving south in the northbound lanes struck an oncoming vehicle around 4:30 a.m. Two other cars were later caught up in the wreckage, one of which flipped over. No serious injuries were reported. Initial police reports indicated that the crash was DUI related but further information has not yet been released. SAN MARCOS, CA – A 19-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in San Marcos, local news reports.  The accident occurred on the 600 block of Woodward Street  around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The victim was attempting to cross Woodward when he was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by a 23-year-old woman. He was then taken to the hospital in critical condition. SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist was killed in San Diego on Thursday morning while attempting to flee from the police, NBC San Diego reports. The accident occurred in the Corridor neighborhood around 1:30 a.m. Police attempted to pull the motorcyclist over for speeding when he took off and officers began pursuit. SAN DIEGO, CA – Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle and killed in Point Loma on Wednesday evening, ABC 10 San Diego reports.  The accident occurred on the 5000 block of North Harbor Drive around 6 p.m. The victims had been attempting to cross the street and where struck by an oncoming vehicle and killed at the scene.
