Motorcyclist dead after early-morning hit-and-run in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA – A man riding a motorcycle died as a result of a hit-and-run crash in Lancaster early Monday morning, according to information from MyNewsLA.

The collision happened on Sierra Highway near Avenue I at about 12:51 a.m., as 59-year-old Lancaster resident Martin Contreras was riding his motorcycle. His vehicle was then struck by the driver of a white SUV who fled the scene.

Contreras was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision. Those with information on the crash are asked to contact the Lancaster Sheriff’s Department at 661-948-8466 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
